The Boat Chippy is based in Penarth Marina, Cardiff Bay, Wales and specialise in marine carpentry providing repair and rebuild of timber based boats, yachts and dinghies. With over 15 years experience we engage in both repairs and long term rebuild projects and newly constructed craft.

 We also offer services including:

 Repair work includes replacement of rotten planks in clinker, cavell, and plywood hulled vessels
 Replacement of steamed in oak or elm timbers.
 Stems, stern posts and transoms replaced
 Rotten shear edges and deck shelves replaced
 Lodging and hanging knees replaced
 Bulkheads taken out and re-built
 Engine bearers constructed new and installed
 Stern tubes cut to requirements
 New rudders constructed
 Wooden mast and spars built
 Varnishing a particular specialty in a conventional varnishing and the new polyurethane coelan

 We also offer a painting service for steel fiberglass and timber boats sprayed or brush painted in two pack or single part paints.

Labour  is charged for 2010 at the standard rate of £25 per hour or negotiable to suit customers requirements.

Penarth Marina offers pontoon berths and dry storage in the marina boat yard at competitive rates.
